A Wrapup of the Year of 2010

Barb decided to share a few of what her & Jerry did in 2010 other than golf in Az and work in WA.

In January Jerry decided to take the window out of the garage and put a golf cart door in its place and what a great idea that was. Cement was also poured to make additional drive way and a side walk down the side of the house to the back yard. Barb loves it, it makes it much easier to walk on cement rather than stepping stone in rocks.

In March Greg and Terry our friends from Graham come to AZ to visit. Jerry and I and Greg and Terry went to breakfast at our club house and then went to the Good Guys car show in Scottsdale. On our way home we stopped and had mexican food. A great day and we enjoyed them coming to visit us for the day.

The end of March Jerry found a good deal on a Corvette in Scottsdale. It was only two weeks tell we had to return to WA so we decided to tow it back to WA so we could drive it during the summer.

We are back in Wa for the summer and Barb loves driving the Corvette.

In May Teresa is hosting Mothers Day brunch and here she is brewing coffee for us.

The mothers day bruch was great as you can see we are all smiling and having our annual mothers day picture together.

We have added Gabby and Jenny two of the grandchildren to the picture.

We now have added Holly Steve's wife to be and Jenny's children Nevaeh & Kavan Barb's greatgrand children.

In June Noelani, Kim's daughter and Jerry and Barb's granddaughter had her second birthday.

Papa Jerry went shopping for Noelani's birthday and look what he found a red wagon.

In July Barb went to SD for her all school class reunion. This is a 3 day week end occasion that happens every 5 years. On Friday there is a golf tournament and a barn dance. Saturday is the parade on main street. As you can see by this parade this is a very small town.

Class Reunion banquet this is held on Saturday night with a street dance following. On Sunday there is a barbecue in the city park. I am sitting on the end of this table so had a great shot of my classes table.

Barb stayed with her brother DeWayne (red shirt) and his wife Barb (white shirt) in SD. Barb's sister Diselle (white/gray shirt) and daughter Terra (pink shirt) also come to SD for the week end. Barbs nephew Jerod (gray shirt) lives in SD. Barb's Son Eli ( navy blue shirt). This picture is after we all went out to eat the night before Barb flew back to WA.

In August Jerry and Barb went to Bainbridge Island to celebrate Kim's birthday.

Jerry & Noelani his grandaughter, are intertaining Kim on her birthday by playing all her musical instruments. As you can see Jerry was quite the musician.

I don't know if Barb and Noelani are on a time out or just resting on the steps.
We had a good time and had pizza and cake with Kim for her birthday.

Also in August Jerry and Barb took the vet and drove to Portland and met friends and traveled on to Bend Oregon to a Corvette show. Jerry and Rich just finished wiping the cars off and look at how proud they are of them.

On the way back from the corvette show we decided to stop in Bend an go through some of the shops. This guitar is made out of wine corks. Barb thought it was so neat just had to take a picture of it. This shop had some really neat things.

In the same shop Jerry found this chair and decided to sit so Rich decided to bow down to him. They were acting pretty silly Nancy and Barb sometimes acted like they did not know them.

In September Barb's cousin Amber & Jeff & their children from CA was in WA. They come over for dinner, this is Ambers little girl what a doll and we hardly new she was around just played with the toys.

Jeff and one of thier boys.

In October there was a celebration of all the birthdays in October. Teresa and Barb are trying to cut this ice cream cake.

Here is the Birthday group, Jerry, Steve, Kavan, Gabby, and Cameron.
A great get together.

Noelani, Kavan & Nevaeh are playing in the back yard waiting for birthday cake.

Birthday present time Nevaeh's birthday is in November and Barb and Jerry will be in AZ so gave her present to her early.

In October Jerry decided to ship the 34 Ford and Corvette to AZ. As soon as the cars were loaded Barb and Jerry left to drive to AZ to get there before the cars arrived. Two days after they got there the cars arrived and are ready to be unloaded.

In November Jerry and Barb & our friends Rich & Nancy drove the corvettes to Tucson . This picture is at the Segaro Cactus National Park.

Here we are the 4 travelers at the Sagaro National Park.

This looks like Jerry and Rich are wanting to get back on the road. They are probably wanting to go to lunch.
The guys are saying Where is Nancy and Barb?

Watlands Fall Update

The summer flew by as we worked most of the time so did not have much else to report on the blog.

However in August we snuck away to Bend Oregon with our friends in Portland to a Corvette show. Had a great time spent 2 days in Bend and 2 days in Portland.

Will have to load picture another time as it won't let me do that task currently.

September was just working and seeing the childrens when ever we can before we head south.

Then on October 16th we had a family get together to celebrate all the October birthdays. We do have a few.

Can't believe these kiddies are growing up so fast. They really were having fun playing out in the back yard. Our backyard has grew since the association put in the new fence and moved the fence closer to the sidewalk.
Noelani the youngest grandchild and Nevaeh and Kavan the greatgrand children.

Well after dinner Teresa and Barb decided it was time for ice cream cake. So here we are cutting and serving this yummy cake.

Well here are the ones that all have October birthdays. Good time was had by all and the barbecued dinner was succcessful also at least there was little food left maybe everyone was just hungrey haha.
That pretty much takes us up to date for the fall.

Rainy Month of June

The month of June started off on the 1st Day of June our Anniversary! Drove the corvette to Bellevue and had dinner. It was a 75 degree day which was very surprising so we could even have the top down.

Then on June 2nd it is Noelani's birthday so Kim come to Auburn and we had a little party for her. Noelani turned the big two years old.

Papa and Nana got her a wagon so her and her mom can go to the park. Noelani thinks she is to big for the stroller.

Papa got her a ice cream cake and she is trying to blow those big candles out.
The next celebration was fathers day. Jerry and I both worked but Kim and Noelani come over on Saturday and had dinner with Jerry. Then on Sunday Barb took Jerry out to dinner.
There was another nice day in June and we were able to drive the Corvette to Buckly for dinner at the 60's Drive Inn.
The rest of the month flew by and it was a rainy month at that. We both are working this summer so the month really went by quickly.

The Month of May Unpredictable Weather

Wow where did this month go? Why does time fly by so fast Barb thinks we just get to busy to stop and enjoy the moment.

The first part of the month is always Mothers day and this year Teresa had us all over at her house for brunch. Steve her brother and Kim her step sister planned the menu and it was yummy as usual. Barb is so blessed with such wonderful children.

Teresa is making us all Starbucks coffee her favorite coffee.

Here we are all together Children, Grandchildren and Great Grand children. We are missing one grand child as she was taking a nap.

Here is the cooks but they wouldn't let Barb contribute but they let her be in the picture. Teresa, Steve and Kim picked out the best gifts for me they got me a Ipod so I can listen to music while I excercise at the gym and also a great cutting board that fits on the sink that has a colander on one side.

Jerry started his summer seasonal job so he didn't get to join us. But on Saturday evening before Mothers Day we drove our Corvette with the top down to Bellevue to dinner. Barb drove it to Bellevue and Jerry drove home. Such fun it was.

It stared raining the following week and has rained the rest of the month.

Barb's cousin Steve Bullington and his wife Jennifer had their baby on May 9th which was Barb's grandmothers birthday Ruby Bullington she died in 1984 at the age of 98. This was such a blessing.

That pretty much wraps the month of May.

April Madness

Guess I forgot to post in my blog for the month of April. It was a busy month. We celebrated Easter at my sisters she fixed a great dinner.

We finished up working at Spring Training in AZ and then we started to prepare to come back to WA.

Jerry had been looking on the Internet and found a great deal on a Corvette that we both have always wanted. Of course our neighbor and good friends from Oregon have one so that got us the bug also. However this is 7 days before we are to leave AZ. Of course we want to bring it back with us so we decide to tow it. A couple of Jerry's car buddies all from Oregon that have street rods and have towed vehicles come over to help us.

This is our new toy and it is SWEET! 2002

Here it is going on the trailer. It towed great and we made it home safe and sound. We arrived back in WA on April 10th. Good to be back at least I say that. I do miss the golfing and bowling and our friends in AZ.

Kim and Noelani come over to visit after we got home I guess papa and Noelani are taking a rest looks like they have played two much.

March The Month of Spring Training

Well the month of March flew by and Spring was a long time coming. Spring training began and Jerry and Barb worked for Ovations company in their merchandising store. Jerry did security at the exit door to direct people to where the entrance was to the pro shop. Barb did cashiering and helped in the store restocking and putting things back where they belonged. Customers tend to change their mind and just drop stuff where it is convient. All in all we worked 15 games and earned a little cash so all was good. The only problem the weather was iffy several days. One game got rained out and another one probably should have been. Lots of days it was cold and windy.

Barb and Jerry managed to get some golfing in with their favorite neighbors. Barb's bowling team ended the winter season and their team took 3rd place.

The garage remodel was finished we now have a golf cart garage door so that was a good project to have over. The house was repainted.

Special Month of February

The month starts off with Barb and Teresa having a birthday. Sadly we don't get to celebrate it together. Barb and Teresa use to before Barb retired spend the day together shop tell we dropped and then have lunch.

Jill Wilson (Barb and Jerry's hair dresser) come to AZ to surprise her father on his birthday. She agreed to come to the house and color and cut hair bless her she brought all her stuff with her. Well in the process of putting the color on Barbs hair the towl the bowl of color was sitting on, at the table slid off and guess what half of the color is on the floor. Jill is frantically scooping up the color as this is all she has with her, Barb is frantically getting wet paper towels to wipe up what is left on the floor. Guess what the two guys are doing in the picture below NO they are not praying they are frantically wiping up the floor. It was one of those group efforts. All in all you see in the one picture Barb still has her hair colored and a new cut so all turned out ok. Barb cooked dinner and a good time was had by all.

Also this month Jerry and Barb decided to take the window out of the garage and put in a golf cart garage door and drive way and make better use of the garage. Many others have done that with this model home. It turned out great. But then come the decision what to do about the paint as the painter said the new garage door would look different than the original because of the age of the paint so we might want to paint them both. Then we really like the new concept which is to access the trim around the doors and the window and arch way by the front door with a different color. Now the decision is to do we paint the whole house or just the new addition part. Fianally after a couple days a decision was to paint the whole house especially when the plan was to do it in a year or two anyway.

Also we made a decision to take out a tangerine tree in the back yard as they were not good eating and very messy so a landscaper come by and took it out. Well for a cost of course. But it all worked out well as we had extra dirt that had to be put someplace because of the new drive way in front so made use of it by making a mound in back where the tree was and we put some new small catus in there. The picture below is our new area where the tree was.

Here is the finished product of our house. All in all we are very pleased with the outcome. One more thing has to be done and that is the coating on the drive way and side walk to the back yard. It can't be done for 30 days as the cement has to cure.
Also this month Barb joined a new golf group of 12 ladies that golf on Thursday afternoon. The group is called Giggles and Hit and we have a lot of fun. We are all out their to have fun and try and improve our score but if it happens great if it don't well we will try harder next time. Then we go to the club house restaurant and have a beverage of choice and free pop corn. They also call it their meeting which it consists of as a lot of laughing and finding out who can play the next week.

Jerry and Barb played in their first golf tournament it was a invitational by a group here called the Bandits and Jerry's cousin Lydle & Jill invited us to be their guests. We had a great time playing golf with them. Then afterwards it was dinner on the patio of the club house. Lydle fixed 7 prime ribs and the group served prime rib sandwiches and etc for dinner.
That wraps up the month and a busy one it was oh I forgot to mention we have had WA weather down here for the month also. I guess they need the rain but we heard that Flagstaff, AZ had the most snow of all the large citys in the US.
