Non Eventful Week

This past week we pretty much just did the usual, bowling, water vollyball, golfing. Jerry found out that he has a job at spring training being a supervisor for security. He thought he was going to be out in the parking lot because he would be low man on the list.

Friday the neighbor lady and I went and practiced out bowling. We had a lot of fun hope we remember what we learned by practicing. Tomorrow will be the test.

Sunday today we joined the niner couples golf group it was fun. We met some new people which is always good.

Barb has been enjoying the new excersice room at the club house they remodeled and have a lot more tredmills and machines so it is really nice.

Weather turned real nice and is in the high 70's and low 80's so that makes during the day nice.

Valentines Week

The week started out as usual Monday and Tuesday bowling for Barb. On Monday we also harvested all the grapefruit we must have picked a hundred or more they are the ruby red kind and very sweet. We will be doing juicing again next week.

On Wednesday we met 6 other couples for lunch that live in Chelan in the summer and in AZ in the winter.

On Thursday Barb had to work at the spring training pro shop. Jerry met with the tree trimming guy who trimmed our grapefruit and tangerine trees before they starting budding for fruit for next year. They really look great and much more manageable and we can see more of the golf course now.

Friday evening we went out to dinner for Valentines day as Barb had to work at the spring training pro shop on Saturday and restaurants are very busy on Saturdays and especially Valentines night also. The picture below is a picture of us at dinner at a restaurant called Red White & Brew. Great food and very large portions.

Today (Sunday) Barb went to church and then we golfed 18 holes in the afternoon and then Jerry suggested we go out to In and Out Burger for dinner of course Barb did not argue as that ment she did not have to fix dinner.

Barb was happy to hear on Wednesday from her sister (Diselle) that she will be coming back from a traveling nurse job in a couple weeks. The hospital she was working at in Wyoming cancelled all the traveling nurses contracts last week. That means she will be coming home earlier than the end of April. Also this means that we will get to see her before we head back to WA.

That wraps it up for another week seems like they really fly by.

OH NO I Forgot to Post on Sunday

We can't believe how the weeks fly by at least for some of us. We were pretty busy last week so guess time flew by and Barb forgot to post on the blog. Barb hopes it wasn't because she had a birthday and she is getting forgetful. She was in the blog to post on Sunday night but got interrupted and never went back to the computer to do it. Plus Barb read Teresa's new blog with pictures of Gabby learning how to drive. That is exciting. Then Barb checked Kim's blog to see if she had updated but she hadn't I noticed last night that she had so that was exciting to see new pictures of Noelani.

The past week we did the usual bowling, and then Wednesday Barb started working at the Hohokam Chicago Cubs spring training stadium helping setting up the pro shops and inventory and pricing. That was interesting so should be fun to be a part of spring training which is so big here in AZ.

Friday evening we were invited to Jerry's cousins for dinner as his cousin from Seattle was in town. Lydle barbecued steak and shrimp it was very delicious. Then on Saturday night there was a North West dinner and dance get together at the club house. This get together is for anyone from WA, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada and Utah and also they included Canada. Jerry was in a dancing mood must have been something in the wine he was drinking. Barb should have had the camera and had someone take our picture so she could have posted it in this blog.

On top of it all we worked at the Mesa Market Fri, Sat,& Sunday for the couple who travels around they were in Lake Havasue. This is our last week end to work for them when they are out of town.

Saturday night we had a big rain storm. Then on Sunday we had the worst rain and hail storm & thunder around noon and the Mesa Market is a metal roof the noise was horrible. When it rains here in AZ it usaually down pours kinda like Barb is use to in SD.

That wraps up last week so until Barb reports again love to all and hope this finds all our family and friends well.

Last Week of January 2009

In addition to our regular weekly activities we managed to experience a new place here in AZ. Our friends that we met on our East coast trip live here in Mesa in a RV park in the winter and in Alterus CA which is their primary residence. They invited us to their house and wanted to take us to this pizza place in Mesa. It is called Organ Stop Pizza it gets its name because this place has live music. As you see in this picture below a guy playing the organ. He plays for 45 minutes and then takes a 15 minute break. This organ recesses into the floor when the 45 minutes is done and then comes up out of the floor when he comes back on stage. The pictures are not real good as Barb did not have her camera in her purse and had to take them with the phone camera. Barb promises to take the camera every where she goes from now on.

This picture is of all the organ inter parts like all the extra instruments and etc you can see them all move while the guy is playing the organ. There is parts on all the walls of this big room. It was a very fun place the pizza was ok but nothing outstanding.

Then on Wednesday we went golfing with our neighbors next door as they were leaving to go back to Portland Oregon on Thursday. Barb had a great game lowest score she has had for a long time.

On Thursday we drove to Sun city to visit Kevin for the day. We played cards, and then played a game of putt putt golf. Went out for a early dinner and then Kevin taught us how to do the WII game we golfed and bowled that was interesting.

Yes, on Sunday was Super Bowl. Jerry was on the AZ team now that they won so Barb told him if he is going to jump from team to team he had to wear a super bowl shirt. He is not happy now that they got beat he says it is Curt Warners fault Barb says it is the whole teams faults they had pentalties they should have not had. Oh well football season is over now on to baseball.
