One Week Left in Sunny AZ

We leave a week from today so we got some work a head of this week. To update you on the past week it was a very busy one. Monday Barb bowled her last game with the SunBird Team and on Tuesday the team had a barbecue and awards. Barb's team won 4th place so she received $31.00 wha hoo you can even make money for being a bowler.

Wednesday Jerry went with his car buddies for breakfast and Barb did house work and then in the evening we were invited to some friends for dinner and to play cards.

Thursday was a golf day and what a challenge that turned out to be a wind storm come into AZ and blew dirt so you could not even see the Santan mountains from our house. The wind gusts were 35 to 45 miles an hour. It was not real bad when we started but it kept getting worse and betime we finished it was bad. When the wind moves the balls on the green when you are trying to putt it is pretty windy. We didn't do to bad considering the weather conditions.

Friday we worked at a spring training game.

Here is a picture of where we work at spring training. We have two games left and then Barb has to help with inventory on Friday.
Saturday am we went to the Mesa Flea Market where we worked part time this year to tell our friends good by for this year. In the evening there was a Womens and Mens Golf banquet and dance so attended that. Yes, we did manage to dance a few times but didn't stay very late as we had to work today at the spring training game.
This coming week we will be getting the Motor Coach washed and waxed and packed and leave here early Sunday am and go as far as Laughlin.
We do hope it is spring like when we get to WA. It sounds like it has been raining and even some snow showers from time to time.

Spring Training in AZ

Guess Barb is behind in updating the blog. It has been 15 days since it has been updated. Abount all that has been going on is working at spring training. Golfed one day and we both had good scores so that was a plus.

Today we are going to a potluck at some individuals house that is orginally from ND and we met them last year when we went on a Mexico bus trip.

Weather is real nice in the upper 70's and next week is to be in the low 80's.

All is well in Az and hope the same for anyone reading this update.

Hot Weather When Will We Get a Break

Wow have we had warm weather here in the 80's the past week. Barb is sorry to have to report this to all you who have had snow and rain or cooler temps. We understand it is not normal to have temps this high this time of year. But heck we might as well enjoy them while it lasts because reports show it will be cooling off the end of next week.

Our week started off as usual and then on Wed we started our new job at the Spring Training Stadium for Chicago Cubs. We worked Wed, Thurs, and Sat this past week. It is really fun to watch all those fans having such a good time and spend their money likes it is water. Barb processed so many sale transactions she thought she was going to have shoulder problems from reaching up for the sales slips. We had four registers going almost the full 7 hours. Saturday it was a sale out crowd which the stadium holds 13,000 and it was full plus all us workers. Jerry on Saturday got to do security at the sky boxes and patio area where special parties go on. He got to watch some of the game. He is a supervisor so he just releives several security people who are at special post areas like the media area, box area, and ball players area where they go in and out.

Here we are in our uniforms they give us shirts and then we wear tan pants.
Sunday today we had a block party. This block covers actually approximately 50 homes. In the morning and early afternoon those who wanted to had a golfing tournament which Jerry and Barb golfed in. Then at 4pm there was sandwiches, salads and desert at the club house patio. Very fun time to meet neighbors you live next door to and don't even know their names.
Another week gone by.
